Great tasting BBQ dishes, Large servings, Great service!
I enjoyed the lunch special BBQ chicken salad, which was almost as good as the Lucille's BBQ chicken salad. Lucille's has a lot more toppings (like cubes of cheese, black beans, corn, and more) which can be a little overwhelming. Beachwood had a good topping-to-dressing-to-chicken ratio. Also the IPA i tried (Hop Ninja) was delicious.

I've heard so much about Beachwood and I finally had a chance to go! Unfortunately, my overall experience was quite disappointing. First off, there was some kind of confusion as to who was actually our waiter. But we were eventually served. Anyways we had ordered appetizers and it literally came out 30 minutes after our main entrees. It was pretty clear that our waiter had completely forgotten to put in our appetizers and we had already eaten about half of our food before it finally came out. He came to check on us probably twice, including taking our orders. Our waters were always empty and I felt bad because my friend was so thirsty that he drank from my brother's glass. Two words to describe him were unprofessional and impersonal. It almost seemed as if he were ignoring us. The food was pretty good except the BBQ Ham Sandwich. The contrast of the brie cheese with the smokey ham and arugula did not go together and the cooks must have messed up on the order because there was suppose to be an aioli on it but it definitely tasted like a blue cheese Mayo or something. Besides that we ordered the brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and ribs, which were quite delicious. I'd really like to dine here again but I'd probably go to the Seal Beach location because the service was so bad.

*UPDATE* The manager reached out and read my first review and apologized for the service that we had a while ago. The fact that he messaged me back and listened to my review already shows that they value service and he also sent me a gift card for the trouble we had. It was very nice and he really wanted us to come back. We went back last night and our service was so much better. Our waitress was very helpful and helped us choose exactly what beers we wanted. The food was amazing and overall it was a much more enjoyable experience than the first time. I spoke to Kirk, the general manager, after our meal and I told him the situation we had before and he was very apologetic and also thanked us for the feedback because he is always trying to improve their service which we definitely saw that night.

If you are in the neighborhood stop by and say hello to the friendly staff and enjoy some great craft brews. Take a bottle home too. BTW, Lamb burger and Blue cheese grits are awesome
